Where to sell a 2007 car

Morning guys,

A colleagues at work is selling her Mazda MX-5 2.0 Z Sport Ltd Edition. Its a well optioned 2007 car with 84k on it.

She's not a member of any Mazda clubs or particularly into cars and I know next to nothing about Mazda so I thought I’d ask if anyone has any recommendations for where to advertise it in addition to here and Autotrader.

Piston Heads is a good place and as you are a member you could place the ad for her or she could join up herself and do it. I have sold a car on here the response was good, from what it sounds like thats a nice car she is selling.

Pistonheads and Autotrader would be my advice. To advertise on the OC you need to be a paid-up member and others, such as MX5Nutz you need to have a number of posts before selling (and no, you can't just spam your way to the target, they see that one coming a mile off).

Nice car the Z-Sport. Good time of year to be selling, here and AT will do it. I sold my 10 Plate Sport Tech using here only at the beginning of January last year (bad time to sell), took about three weeks.

She could also put it on ebay as a classified rather than an auction. But I'd go with autotrader first.

Thanks guys - we'll go the usual routes then - I just wanted the check the owner club wasn't a vital addition.

MX5OC is quite a quiet forum, I can't imagine it would be an enormous boost to selling a car providing it's posted on PH or Autotrader.

FWIW, my Clio 182 was on Autotrader for a month with no luck. Stuck it on PH and sold it 4 days later.

The z sport is a nice car but the thing she will struggle with is the milage.

Price it realistically and Autotrader or Pistonheads should do the trick.

For something reasonably rare like a ZSport, it might be worth paying for an OC membership just to be able to advertise it there.
