I have bought an OEM strut brace from the 2.0 sport to fit to my 2.0 se. Just wondering if anyone had done this and if so could they give me a few pointers as to how to go about fitting it. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out here.

I am informed by one of the MAX5 race guys, that they do nothing but add weight.
So they remove them.

But otherwise it just bolts on
You might need the brackets that it bolts to against the bulkhead behind the engine.

Really?, all of the internet based research i did seemed to suggest they were a worthwhile addition, hence the reason i bought it. For £45 including the bracket it hasn't broken the bank. As for adding weight, for a road car i'm sure whatever weight it adds which must be fairly minimal will not dull its performance to any noticeable degree. Going to be a case of suck it and see. If it proves to be a waste of time and money,i will remove it and sell it on.

As for the fitting, its the bracket that i am most concerned about.

I race / rally an MX5. Strut braces do nothing for handling (double wishbone suspension, different load paths etc) or rigidity of the car. A 3 point brace that joins to the firewall may reduce a bit of the scuttle shake.

So would the general opinion be to not even bother fitting it and just sell it on?

If that's the case, i think i will sell it on. I also have a set of h&r -40mm springs, are these worth fitting or is it eibach's only?

H&R Springs are well rated, can't see they'd be much different from the Eibach offerings to be honest smile
