Hey all,

I hope someone might be able to help me. I have a power flow exhaust fitted to my mk1, at least the back box is, I'm not so sure about the mid pipe as it was fitted to the car when I bought it. However I have managed to rip a massive hole in what I assume is the mid pipe silencer thanks to Birmingham's lovely speed bumps. Much cursing and a little crying ensued.

I have been looking around for replacement mid pipes but I assume as this is a power flow system the mid pipe is unique to this exhaust? Meaning I have to replace both the mid pipe and back box, am I right in this?

As for replacement I been looking at something that sounds as good as my power flow system, I been looking at the il Motorsport exhaust on mx5parts as apparently it is the only one that will fitmy 475mm cat(1997 P reg). Does anyone have any experience with this exhaust?

Cheers,

nothing mx5 parts sell will fit your longer cat setup without converting your downpipe and cat to a 440 or 370mm cat i believe. If you force fit it your tailpipe will probably poke out the bumper a mile.

I had the same issues and converted to a 440mm cat and matching downpipe from a 95 eunos (mines a 1997 UK) and fitted a cobalt catback from moss. Very pleased with the quality.

Well the exhaust was fitted successfully to my 475mm cat, I made sure to purchase the one on the website which corresponded to the vin of my car.

It sounds quite quiet right now but I'm sure it will need some time to bed in and I haven't driven it in anger yet, looking forward to the drive home.
