Help please... price.

I have a female friend who has a 'Y' reg 1.6 MX5. Crystal blue, done 40.000 odd miles. So far so good... However, it's been stood outdoors for three years unmoved!
It was only laid up as she needed a new 4 seat car for work (car allowance) and she intended to use the MX as a weekend car. That never happened!
It was checked over last year with a view to MOTing it and apparently the fuel tank is rusty inside (not leaking) and the fuel pump is U/S - probably full of rust, so it's a non runner.
She is of the opinion that it's a lovely car and she wants an enthusiast to buy it as she loves the thing. Her husband however is of the opinion that it's a bloody wreck and he just wants rid as it's an eyesore and the neighbours are complaining!
I'd buy it myself if I had anywhere to store/work on it as I'm very partial to an MX5 and will be actively looking for a MK1 in the next few weeks, I could suffer a MK2 though...
Anyone any idea what this thing is worth?
I said scrap value - £200 but that went down like a bowl of cold sick!

Anyone in Torbay that wants it is welcome, so long as they promise the lass to restore it to its former glory... of course what they really do is up to them!

I'd suggest that the cost of making it roadworthy is greater than it's value, so she'd be lucky if someone would take it away for nothing. They're hardly rare cars are they and she doesn't own a limited edition, so why would someone buy one to restore when they can just pick up a runner? Someone who's building a kit car may want one, but other than that I can't see anyone interested unless they are very local.

There's a few guys on MX5nutz that buy old dogs to restore them and resell, you might want to have a look advertise there and see how much they offer.
