Clutch Slave Cylinder Questions
Discussion
I've just bought a new slave cylinder for my mk1 and have a couple of questions...
The rod that goes into the rubber boot isn't attached to the piston bit, how does it fix? It doesn't seem to fit into the recess in the end of the piston. Will it all make sense when I try to assemble it?
Also, I might have accidentally pushed the piston in slightly, will this cause me any issues when trying to fit the cylinder? I can't see that it would but I don't really want to get all the to fitting the damned thing and then find out I've buggered it up!

The pushrod is unattached to the cylinder and is held in place by the dust cover, no problem. Pushing the piston back will have done no harm, it will come out when you bleed the system.
The retaining bolts can be tight, but you can undo them with socket on the end of a wobbly extension.
remember to slacken the hydraulic pipe while the cylinder is still attached as its easier while its held in place.
Its an easy job, you should be fine.
