panel vin plates on mk3.5

I made a slight parking error in my mk3.5 (I parked it backwards into a hedge, this would be an error...) in my mx5. this resulted in the need for a new door, the new door does not have the same VIN plate sticker that all panels normally have and the original door did have. should one have been put on even though it was a replacement door, or do only panels as it left the factory have them?

They are fitted at the factory during build, new panels don't have them, because obviously they a) need painting and b) could be supplied to any MX-5 that has had a prang

You can get them though - contact Mazda UK who will pass your enquiry onto their Homologation manager - he can then request a replacement for you.
