Hi all,

Hope someone can help. I have a 2002 MX5 Mk2 Phoenix. It's been well-maintained with FSH. It suddenly won't start. I had it towed to the local garage and they said it's the immobiliser broken. Have tried the spare key but doesn't help. They can't fix it as they're not electrical specialists so have suggested I look for a recommendation of someone with expertise in fixing MX5 immobilisers. I don't mind if it's fixed or overridden- just so I can have my lovely car back soon

Can anyone here recommend someone good in the South West London area who might be able to help me?

Many thanks- much appreciated.

Kate

I'm not saying they are wrong, but if it's the stock immobiliser, usually when they go wrong the car will start but stop again after a second or so.
Are the carpets on the passenger side dry? It could easily be water getting to the ecu.

Hi, thanks- that's really helpful. It definitely doesn't start then stop- it won't do anything! It's at the garage at the moment, so I don't know if the carpets are wet. Do you know a good MX5 repairer in SW London who might be able to fix either ECU or immobiliser?
Thanks a lot,
Kate
