MX5 Question

My Brother in law is looking at purchasing an MX5. the one he's found has a chrome boot rack fitted and he wants to remove it. question is, how are they fitted on and will removing it leave any damage/holes?

In any case if it's a good 'un a bootlid already in the correct colour could be obtained relatively easily from any breakers or MX5 suppliers.

And he'd have a possibly more valuable one to sell on.

mine was fitted simply by sitting on top of the boot with metal 'hooks' which hook over the sides and back of the boot lid.

Depending on the design it could leave some scratching on the boot lid.

It could be drilled or just strapped on but I just sold a boot with a spoiler for £20. So if it's a standard colour you could easily sell the rack (which seem to be fairly desirable secondhand) and have enough for the same colour replacement bootlid.
