MX5 - keys left in boot !
Discussion
Did the EXACT same thing last year.
Took cover off car, unlocked boot, put cover in boot, put key in boot, shut (and thus, locked) boot.
Go to unlock car door, and the process goes something like this....
Jackal, let me know if you want me to PM me with the technique the locksmith used to get into mine. Bloody scary actually.

I'm terrified of doing this with my mk3. Always make sure it's firmly in my hand before closing the boot.
Mk3s have a boot release catch in the cabin, I did it my dads mk3 and st myself until I found the release button! I went mountain biking in the middle of nowhere and after parking my car/putting my bike together I closed the door by pushing the lock on the inside of the door and holding the handle when closing - I usually do this with my MK1 as its quicker and doesn't risk keying my paint.
Anyway, I then realised I was looking directly at my keys - still in the ignition - from outside the window. The stupid thing was, my spare was also on the keyring - I'd MOT'd it recently and had the spare when I picked it up. Just stuck them together so I wouldn't loose them.
Anyway, cut a long story short, after a few hours of cursing and avoiding tearing my hood, someone supplied me with
Finally I could go riding, got half way down the trail and my wheel burst! No spare inatube.
That was a S**t day! But a funny story ...

Public forum is probably not the best place to discuss emergency entry information.

To everyone who participated in this thread years ago, I have a sudden cry for help!
I am a proud new owner of a mk1 mx5 1995 and a week in, I have shut my only set of keys in the boot, with all doors locked and the roof shut. I can't think of a way to get in. Please could somebody pm me with some help?
