Roll bar and Style bar are different things.. What do you want one for, looks or safety?

If you want a genuine Mazda item, I don't think you can go to far wrong with these.

(You can also buy a soundboard to go between the hoops as well)

I have just sold it on ebay. expect to pay around £120-£150 for one of the above with the wind delfector included.

I replaced it with a more robust T R Lane rollbar and Mazda parts wind deflector. It doesn't look as nice but is considerably more safer I reckon.

How does the T R Lane and that deflector compare to the style bars and deflector for wind noise and cabin comfort?

If you want to keep the original mk2.5 speaker/windblocker combo, then you'll want this style bar:

http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/stainless-steel-style-wi...

It's the only one that fits that setup. I got one for £40 second hand. Looks great smile The only niggle is that the seat belt tops no longer fit. You'll have to go naked or find some smaller tops to cover the bolts.

The MX5 parts windblocker sits higher than the Mazda hooped one, so it reduces the air movement a little more.

Neither cut it out completely, however without it in place you really notice it.

The deflector also helps to keep the warm air circulating in the cabin, so it's a massive improvement.

Thanks.
I already have the OEM Style Bar with deflector and have agreed to buy my cousins T R Lane when he goes to a full cage, but was just interested about the deflector side of things. Having been in a few 5s without, I wouldn't want to lose it...! getmecoat
Out of interest, how is the MX-5 Parts deflector secured to the roll bar, velcro straps or similar?

I had to get my Dad to weld some extension brackets onto the arms on the MX5 parts item.

Only had to extend it by around 40mm each side, and you cant even see the welds after it was sprayed and sits behind the bar.

It only took him 10 mins, but then he does have 60 years of experience after working on cars all his adult life!

I aslo got the tonneau cover un-stitched and re-stitched to fit around the legs of the roll bar to make a full job of it, but thats only because im a bit OCD and the devil is in the detail for me.

Thanks for the reply. smile
I want the wind deflector, but I'm not bothered about the tonneau cover, I've never even used it!

Cool, no worries. Keep an eye out on ebay for the MX5 parts deflectors, they sell for around £40-£50 normally.

Looking for a black tonneau cover for my 2004 MX5 Mk 2.5 VT Sport. Previous topic on roll bars etc., (2012) did mention that some members (LukeBird) hadn't used his, so was wondering if anyone had one available
