Anyone done this?

I've had my 996tt X50 for 2 years now and fancy a change.
The cooking Porsches do nothing for me and I can't afford a GT2 or GT3 of the sort I'd like.

A good CSL seems a great place to drop £30k at the moment and all the reviews I've been reading suggest what a great car it really is.

Obviously, the CSL will be down by 100hp and quite a lot of torque, but a fair few kgs lighter and nimbler.
That, and I guess the aural sense of occasion will be better in the CSL?

This will be a 3rd car for use at the weekends and about 5k miles a year - so special enough?

All comments greatly accepted as the decision on what to change for is driving me mad...

Thanks.

Have you considered a few, gentle, subtle modifications to your car?

For example, change the suspension to a KW set up then get Andy Fearns at Silverstone to fettle it.

Whilst there, stick on some GT3 brakes and if you have minimal gelatinous blubber, ditch the armchairs in favour of something more buckety.

Honest, it transforms the feel and restores your faith in one of the most capable and truly engaging veloceraptors in motoring.

Then, head far, far north...

I guess you'll get a few opinions (and I haven't experienced a 996TT) but Steviebeee did this....

Good luck with your decision.....clearly I am biased, but I would say the CSL is a car that any petrolhead should experience. I think they are ace and I've only scratched the surface of it's ability wink

massively under rated....
