Guys,

I'm after a bit of honest advice.

What do you owners and ex owners thing of the E46 CSL ride quality.

I currently have a 59 plate Focus RS that has rubber bands for tyres and as such
spend a lot of time just bouncing around on what look like pretty good (for the UK)
road surfaces.

I'm thinking about changing to a CSL but thought it worth asking what the ride is like first.

I think its ok, its not unbearable at all, long journeys are no problem. i went from a 135i to a CSL and the 1 series (with runflats) was a harsher ride. it had more comfortable seats, and softer suspension... but still a harsher ride, if that makes any sense?

When I first got mine I distinctly remember thinking "Jeez, I'm gonna need a sports-bra to cope with this". A major problem as in 2003 a man couldn't just walk into a shop and buy a bra for himself.

Seriously though, Rev, probably best if you go and try one. They're not so bad - I had one for seven years and it never bothered me, but a lot of passengers did complain. Tyres make a difference.. Cups are very unforgiving (very stiff sidewalls).
Anyway it's such an EPIC car is so many ways that I wouldn't let ride quality bother you biggrin

Bunch of slack jawed faggots around here, try running 1K2 Intrax for 20K miles; that's a man's job!

GD,

It did about 1K over Christmas. Left Bafster trailing in my wake (in his snow tyred porsche hybrid 4x4) in the snow! But I take your point, normally I'm wafting along in the V8 Disco over here...

..a std car will be fine, when you change the bushes, dampers springs etc to get it good for the track, then it will drive you nuts on the road over any distance.. and you will end up getting a 2nd car for comfort..! horses for courses, you cant have both, comfort or cornering..! your choice... smile

Exactly +49! They should try running Intrax, it would make them into a sexual tyrannosaurus ...... just like me!
