Hi Guys,

I bought genuine csl wheels for my e46m3.
I have just fitted the same size tyres as what were on the diamond cut 19" m3 wheels.
225 40 front and 255 35 rear.
Can any one tell me if I should have the wider tyres on these wheels? 235front 265rear?

Thanks in advance,
Neil

Standard CSL tyre sizes:

Front 235/35/19

Rear 265/30/19

Bear in mind that the CSL sits slightly lower than a standard M3.

Thats great, cheers.

Do you think this will effect the handing on the m3 ie, apart from tram linning.

Cheers, Neil

No - unless you have lowered your suspension or run additional negative camber at the front.

I'm running 245/35's & 275/30's on genuine CSL rims, along with Eibach springs and it's still fine. No rubbing or clearance issues. It does tramline a bit more than standard, but not beyond an acceptable level and the 2cm extra width at each corner offers a lot more dry weather grip!
The fatter tyres also look great and have the nice effect of giving you slightly more ground clearance whilst also reducing the wheel arch gap.

225 fronts / 255 rears are fine on CSL rims back when it first came out the road tyre alternate to the Cup was the Michelin Pilot Sport, whcih only came in those sizes.

It wasn't until the PS2 came out, that they made the wider 235/265 sizes.

only thing with the narrower tyres, is watch the rims for kerbing!
