Hello
Been lurking a very long time, but never posted before.

I'm looking for an E46 CSL, and have spotted the black CSL at Munich Legends - ( http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1752754.htm).
Does anyone know anything about the car?
Munich Legends tell me that they're selling the car on behalf of someone. I'm going to look at it later today, and wanted to see if the owner was on here?
They didn't seem that up to speed on the car itself (could just have been a wrong impression over the phone), so I was wondering if anyone knew any more about it?

Thanks in advance, sorry for the grasping first post...

No insight into the one at ML but have you seen the black car at Top 555 in Rutland?

Not in person, but it looks very nice.
I have to say, it's hard to be objective when you're actually standing next to a CSL. I had to be very strong to keep my wallet in my pocket!
The car was beautiful, but quite heavily stonechipped. Does anyone know how much a bumper / leading edge of bonnet respray would be? If I did that, i'd probably look to get it shielded, so does anyone have any idea how much that would be as well?
Finally, does anyone have any experience of ML's warranty service? I had to drag myself out of there without listening to the warranty details that they were offering, for fear of making a rash decision!

The guys at ML were incredibly kind, allowed me to spend several hours poking around the car, and were very chatty and helpful. I'd highly recommend them...

I cant help much, but couldn't remain quiet at the back...
I popped over there last week and had a good look round it. The car is completely standard and they were telling me its carries great Service/H IIRC and they quoted that the only bad thing was it had a few stone chips to the front bumper. But tbh, they are prone to eating stones as im sure your aware of. Has all the right options that I would have or (I do have). They only thing I didn't like was the non standard head unit, but an easy fix. Depending on your idea of usage, whether road or track a few mods would be needed for a occasional/ regular track car, starting with APs. Seems reasonably price though for a standard and mid mileage CSL. Room for negotiation im sure wink

Looks a cracker, but it's a shame the salesman took the piss out of me with an offer for my car against it.

I can't help much either, but AceArchie, you have a CLK DTM! Only car's I would replace the CSL with (lottery permitting) CLK DTM or a CLK Black cloud9

Don't know the car matey but I only ever hear good feedback on ML - some say pricey but you get what you pay for. Based on anecdotal commentry, I would be entirely comfortable buying there. Ask on www.cslregister.com - one of the guys may be familiar with the car. Good luck !

Furthermore, you will find that the majority of cars you view will be stonechipped - very prone to it.

Highly recommend munich Legends? I woulnd't

Bought two cars from them in the past, one was an Alpina and it had the standard diff on it, not the factory alpina diff, and also bought an Alpina c1 2.3 only to find out it's not a genuine car. Sorry but those guys get away with alot, and heavily over-price almost everything, and warrant its price by calling it a "Trackmeister"

Rant over

Cost for a front end respray of bonnet and front bumper around £500, and another £500 to paintshield it afterwards. That is what I did when I bought a black CSL with lots of stonechips.....its worth getting the paintshield as otherwise you become paranoid about every single mark that appears!

PS. Great Car, you wont regret buying one.

W1TAK, long time no hear. Are you looking at getting another CSL? I still remember coming to see yours over three years ago. I got hold of a SG one in the end.

Sorry to hijack the thread.
