Quick question...

I visit Spa and the Ring once a year, and was wondering how bearable the CSL is on a long drive... is it noisy sitting at 70-100? I've come from an Exige, which I generally wore earplugs biggrin But was hoping it would be a lot more bearable than that. I have an Evo 8 which I find a little bit hard on the ear after an hour or so.

Also, is there any history with the one Extreme are selling atm? Apart from it being way overpriced biggrin

I have done long journeys in mine and it is fine (mine is std ). Turn sport off if you don't want the induction noise at 70-90. I use the std fit stereo with a iPod physical connection and if I want music I can easy hear this over the car.

Not sure on the history of that car, any links?

Nothing obvious from just the pictures. Check the services have been Initial, Oil, Insp1, Oil, Insp2, Oil, Insp1, etc with the dates. Does it have a BM warranty? If not, a bargining point. Check the history with BM if you know a friendly dealer.

Bid him £27K and move towards £28-29K perhaps?

The CSL is a bit noisier than an M3, but it's not too bad. I certainly find it comfy on a long distance (more so than the M3), but this will depend how 'wide' you are.

If you can get a couple of k knocked off the one at Xtreme with a BMW warranty thrown in, it wouldn't seem too bad a price. I guess it is mechanically and visually as new. Has it spent most of its life parked up in a garage?

The car in question is not massively overpriced, i'd say it's worth 30K.

MB 1 - the CSL is a dream to drive long distances across europe - having driven to the Ring and back from Portsmouth over a long weekend - it was so comfortable and smooth when compared to anything like an Exige/ Elise or Scooby/ EVO.

It is a high price but is also a sub 20k miler and there aren't many of those left. However I would look to save at least £5k on that price for a sub 30k miler that has been looked after. Don't worry if it has been used on track - they all should be and if they haven't then why not??? smile So long as it's not a track only car.

Go and get a drive in one matey - awesome machine smile
