Strange that other publications have missed this, but BMW revealed their replacement to the M3 CSL this evening and you can read the full details on SkiddMark plus watch the video.

http://www.skiddmark.com/?p=4986

Price is likely to be somewhere between £84,000 and £100,000. It has been fitted with a 4.4 litre version of the M3's engine and around 100kg has been shaved off the M3's weight. Compared to the E46 M3 CSL it comes fitted with rollcage, adjustable ride height and dampers, adjustable aero and fixed caliper 6/4 pot brakes.

Looks great, no doubt a fantastic car. But give me £84k or £100k and I won't even be considering it.

£80k for a BMW? They're having a laugh. Do they think they're Porsche all of a sudden?

Uk pricing has not yet been confirmed, but Euro 115,000 places it just Euro 1,000 less than an M6.

I don't get the whole '£80k for a BMW?!' brigade its just makes people sound like badge snobs. If its performs like a gt3 rs why should it be cheaper?!

Umm...hello Pistonheaders! Who gives a toss what it costs! No, I'll never be able to afford one but thank all that's holy that BMW consider it worth while to develop a product like this and bring it to market. With all the restrictions being enforced on the industry by the green brigade it's cars like this that retain our interest.

Thats what companies get for trading on their brands.

Anyone who pays 84-100k for an M3 needs their head examining.

Still too heavy - even with a 100Kg weight reduction it's over 1.5 tonnes.

Get it down to the original M3's 1300Kg and I'll be impressed.

No doubt that'll be an amazing car, but the price is a bit steep! Bet it's not as quick as the GT-R around the 'Ring either.

Seems to me the designer only had one thing on his mind. He wanted to kill his wife..

(or is a passenger harness only available on the £100k model?)

The spoiler banghead

As bad as the nasty thing that found its way onto the boot of the E46 Clubsport.

The asking price is strong, have to say I would be looking at a Gallardo for that budget. Bet they sell however many they build though.

Yes I do thanks. Doesn't mean it's worth £80k is it (whether it's a M3 or a M6).
