Hi All

Thinking about chopping my z4mc for this. Does anyone know the car?

What's your opinions of what will happen to the values of CSLs in the next 2-3 years? I don't want to lose mega money - do we think they'll stay about £20K? What will happen though when the new model m3s hit the mid 20s in value? Will that affect the CSLs?

Cheers

One more thing - It says it has a Thorney Stage 2 ecu upgrade and Milltek exhausts. According to their site, that's a £2999 upgrade and looks like a decent start (needs APs/Brembos and coilovers too).

There's also a Thorney Stage 2 handling kit which is just some Eibach springs and slight geometry change for a frankly ridiculous £399.

If you know this car - do you know if it's the proper Stage 2 stuff or the springs?

Thanks again!

Stage 2 is remap plus Milltek. I think it's fair to assume that this is what they're referring to rather than the handling upgrade given the car has a Milltek fitted...

It won't have PDC at the front.

The Eibach springs don't work on the CSL - last time I looked on Thorneys they didn't do a spring for the CSL.

Price looks a bit steep.

I agree but it is Hexagon and they are in a special marketplace all of their own sometimes!

I think it is the proper Stage 2 which appeals to me much much more!

So what do you think is a fair price, taking into account that it's at a main dealer that positions itself as an M specialist blah blah?

Buying from a main stealer has no real benefit with regards to the car unless a privately sold car does NOT have the BMW Comprehensive Warranty.

So best bet is to buy a private car, without the stealers premium, which already has the BMW Comprehensive Warranty. smile

I thought there was an eibach spring option for the CSL, lowers the std stuff slightly. As the std rear suspension is £80 a spring and breaks often, £300 for a set of 4 springs fitted seems okay.

seems fully loaded but the milltek can resonate a bit and a few people have removed them as they can be a bit annoying at 3k revs

other wise looks good

(if you want to track it youd better buy a brake upgraded car)

As mentioned about re: the Milltek. IMO it's a cracking looking exhaust but does 'boom' a bit at 2700-2800rpm, which is most unconvenient as that's 70mph in 6th. Just get to 80mph and you're laughing though.

Price is a bit firm but being a CSL owner already, I think it's great! Keep looking and find one privately with BMW Comprehensive Warranty. Remember too that it's now possible to put a Warranty on a car even if it's already lapsed. Another avenue you could look into...

Well, called the f&^kers at Hexagon and chatted through a potential deal with them. That was Thursday lunch - still not a call back. Am i not rich enough for them or are they just rude?

It baffles me. The last time my car was in bmw they were trying to cop out of warranty work "because of modifications"

Surely BMW cant offer warranty on remapped ecus.

Typical, when it suits

No, it's much simpler than that, they're a useless bunch of @%$£ers.
I tried to deal with them on a car they had 12 months ago. A waste of time, the salesman didn't ring me back and the sales manager was a total cretin.
Look elsewhere. Take a look at Ades car (knowing his previous GT3) he's most likely thrown huge amounts of dosh at it to get it perfect prior to selling it ! smile If I hadn't bought my old Zanzibar GT3 back I'd be buying Ades CSL . . . .

P.S Have you retracted the "the Alcons ARE the best brake upgrade for a CSL" line from your advert Ade ? eek Stick it back in and add IMO . . . . . biggrin

So, i called Hexagon again after hearing nothing since my initial inquiry on Thursday. The sales guy was busy so i expressly requested that i was expecting a call back today.

You guessed it - no call back.

I'm not likely to buy the car at this point, especially if they won't even bother calling back. I will however dedicate my life to complaining about this lack of respect. We'll see if i get anywhere - i doubt it - but i will enjoy trying!

Someone please buy my ZM, then i can buy Ade's car!
