Hey Shim...

Don't worry i'm not giving up tracking..!

The Alcon fairy stopped by... with a gift.. so I've got my mits on some of the competitions bits and in the spirit of 'suck it and see' testing.. here goes.. biggrin Along with the said 'gift' was a very nice bill so I'm looking to sell the A/P's..

I will let you know how they compare after the 17th at Sillystone.. but the A/P's are gonna take some beating..! they are the benchmark so far on these cars..

If any of your CSL buddies are on Stock brakes and want an upgrade.. send them my way..!

Did you get ya wheel brg fixed.. and was that the problem..?

That will be me then.. !. biggrin

I'm told the Alcons have a softer/ longer initial bite point, but firm up further down the travel range, they have a different bias too.. I will let you know if they are any better or not soon enough..!

Hope to get to Donny before the season is out.. and we can have a few laps head2head... spin

What mods are you trying..? geo..?

Alcons on the car now Shim... no feedback till i have bedded them in for a week..
A/P's are boxed up ready for a new home..!

If your looking for track side surgery I can bring a hammer drill and an egg wisk.. ! and maybe we can get into the 17-18's.. biggrin

I had one of Carlin motorsport's F3 drivers take mine round the GP last time out.. and I know there is a 15-16" in the car now.. but finding it with me holding the controls is going to be a challenge..! so who's first with the aneasthetic..!.. biggrin

Right now, they have RS29's in the front.. and DS3000 in the back..
I'm told that Pagid will be making an RS29 for the rears soon.. maybe you will know more as it looks like its your kind of business..!

If it grabs the rears too much on the track on Monday, I will try a DS2500 which is a not so aggresive.. until i can get some RS29's, but I doubt the brake bias delivers enough pressure to the rears for this,

I ran the A/P rears on track with DS2500's then RS29's.. and at best they only seemed to get 'polished'.. rather than worked very hard.. so I'm expecting the extra bite of the DS3000's to get a bit more braking on the back..

Yes they do - in fact, I run RS29s in mine. Drop me a line if you want a set.

Are you running in the CSL Cup series or track days..?

Just a word of warning - DS3000s are very aggressive and eat discs. Good for some race applications though which is what they were designed for.

I've been quite tempted by the CSL Cup series and have spoken briefly to John about it. I think we met once at Silverstone... although at the time I was running DS2500s which are not really up to the job except for road use. The website has been updated for Alcons.

Your right about 3000's being aggresive.. and eating discs.. I wouldn't run them up front for sure unless i was racing it competitively.., but because the rears don't do a lot of work, i reckon they will be ok.. but if the wear is too harsh, they will come out next week and i will be on the blower for some 29's from you..!

How are you getting on with the Alcons now..? have they been on the track yet..?

Came back from the Ring a couple weeks ago and they were mega (with the RS29s, not the DS2500s that melted). Everything you want in brakes. Powerful, fade free, and totally confidence inspiring. They are stronger brakes than were on my GT3.

edited to add> don't forget that the Alcon rears do more work compared to OEM or APs.
