Just had a look at this car and wondered if it is know to anyone? 47K miles, cosmetically not perfect but my main concern is the running in service was done at 1520 miles-is this a worry? It is up at 28K worthless english pounds at an independent-clearly over priced, but should i walk away anyway?

1500 miles is okay, 1700 is the commonly stated maximum (1200 plus/minus 500 miles)

But its still hearsay.

My mates CSL had his at 2100 and has had a new vanos etc so it clearly doesnt affect the warranty.

There are ways via AUC that a later running in service can be OK. Was for my M3 done at 1910 miles, then retailed as AUC to the guy I bought it from. It has full warranty as long as I want to keep extending it.

The AUC check makes the difference, Sytners 'insepected and approved' the car as OK before retailing it in my case.

No questions limit is indeed 1700 miles or there-abouts.

Your spelling for a start!

biggrin

They clearly don't unless you have it in writing. Try convincing a buyer that an M3/CSL is worth the going rate without the 1200 mile service (plus or minus 500 miles)...

It isn't heresay. Your mate may have a dealer warranty on his car (ie they pay), but BM UK won't...

I don't think they can invalidate the whole warranty if the first RI Service is missed/ late.
I'm pretty sure if a manufacturing defect occurs that is deemed to be caused by the late / lack of first RI Service then they would be able to reject a claim on this basis?
