Thats great you have no sympathy, but it was 22 year old girl, and she had worked hard for the right to buy a CSL.
We should not have to worry about geting ripped off.

By Scum also the advert was on this site aswell as autotrader

Really intelligent post lostsoul. This is a car community designed for car enthusiasts, I actually feel anger that you could post something like that here from your pedestal. Remember not to put it up here if you ever get burnt. As I won't be able to contain my laughter...

with that attitude you must really be a lost soul!

we all make mistakes and learn from them, i am reasonably intelligent and successful but someone managed to take me for a ride many years ago and i was done out of a few quid. it taught me a valuable lesson and i am better for it.

some people go through life not coming across people like this and as a result they're just not street wise.

Its not a matter of being street wise , as metntioned on the other thread running on this the person was a mbember of other car related sites where hardly a day goes by without some mention of a scam re car sales , how on earth she- he did this is just beyond me its not as if it seems it was even a very sophisticated scam just a half arsed story and i am guessing the car was probably cheap and greed took over

I do not like to see anyone get robbed or cheated but to do what this person did is just plain stupid

OK so what she did was wrong. I was foolish when I was that age and made lots of mistakes. However, if I had enough cash to buy a CSL back then I most probably would have taken advice from someone on the right way to purchase the car. I would at least would have paid someone to check the car out - i.e. have a dealer inspection done.

I don't know anyone who would spend that much money on a car without getting it checked out properly and AT LEAST seeing it in the flesh with the owner / dealer.

I am sorry for her and hope she and other ppl learn from this experience.

At 22 she must have worked VERY hard to afford a CSL, and when that disappeared go straight out and buy an M3 instead! And then the dubious speeding fine story... Has anyone actually met this person? Happy to have my scepticism proved wrong (well actually I'm not as it means the person was genuinely scammed and obviously that can never be good, no matter how stupidly they got themselves into it in the first place)

I feel sorry for the woman but to be honest who buys a car without seeing it, how do you know it doesnt have major problems a hpi check wont tell you that and on top of that why would you take the risk when that kind of money is involved.

I have had so many scam artists try and get me to send my 840 overseas with their stupid storys....blah blah blah im a sailor and im off work, blah blah im going to sweden for work and will need car transported

its so damn obvious its rediculous especially when they offer more than you want for the car hahahaha.

So was this an entirely new scam or a variation of one of the old shipping agent classics?
