Hi there chaps,

I am trying to order a new set of rear tyres for the CSL.

The rear alloys are currently running on 265/35/19. I have been told that I can try maybe a slightly bigger tyre but I am not too sure since I am happy with my current size.

Reason why I am asking is because I am after a set of Eagle F1 Asy and they dont do the exact profile so I will have to go for either 265/30/19 or 275/30/19. Keen on the 35 height ratio tho cause it closes off the gap between the wheel and car nicely.

I am aware that stock profile for the CSLs are:

front: 235/35/19
back: 265/30/19

However I am keen to fit the largest possible tyres on the alloys to enhance protection on the alloys as well as closes gap between wheel and car.

Does anyone know what is the largest tyre profile / size that will fit on the CSL alloys (front and rear) without sacrificing performance?

Cheers.
FD

275/30 fit fine on rear, most I've run on the front is 245/35 - don't think I'd go much wider. Am running stock suspension too.

Cheers... do you think 275/35/19 will be too big?

I wouldn't bother going bigger than 265. To be honest even smaller 255 (and 225 on the front) works absolutely superbly. One of the best feeling CSLs I've ever been in runs 225/255 and the level of grip would blow you away.
I run the 235/265 just because that's the size the Cups come in for this car.

I wouldnt run 225's on the front as they have a smaller footprint and lower grip levels than 235's IMO..

I have run 35 section rears before, when i cant get any 30 section but they are an inch taller side by side..

Stick to 235*35's and 265*30's and lower it ..! you wont go wrong.. wink

ha, cheers mate, I'd like to lower it but at the moment I am already struggling going up certain ramps and scraping on some speed bumps. I think it would really be a nightmare if I lower my car!
