So.. with my rear wheel steering now rectified.. ready for the track day season.. i am trying a 10' toe out front end geo to see / feel the difference..

I have noticed with a weeks road work now done, all in the wet i might add, that its a little numb around straight ahead, but soon as you get a little lock on, the car seems to pull itself round a bend, which is kinda what i expected, it certainly tram lines more, with reduced straight line stability.. again expected..if you get on the white lines / cats eyes, the car finds its own line, which is not necessarily where i want to go..!

Not having got to the track yet, or any dry tarmac bends 80-100mph, what can i expect on track from this setup.. Apart from reduced tyre life of course..! biggrin hoping to dial out the last bit of understeer...

After much practice on the allen keys i reckon the KW's are about right.. previous handling biased towards a little low speed understeer, 50-70mph.. a bit less @ 80, and 85-100mph was pretty much neutral, spot on for copse / stowe and bridge corner .. but not at all good into woodcote..!

It's likely to make it much more responsive and twitchy, high speed stability will be reduced, it'll tend more towards oversteer. But it does rather depend on what the previous characteristics were and how far you've changed it. You might just have reduced the amount of understeer.

Toe out at the front promotes better turn in... but not recommended on a road car as it reduces stability & increases tyre wear

Usually the reverse - toe in encourages understeer and makes it less willing to turn in.

Well... I ran the toe out front end set up at Bedford yesterday.. and i like it, it is sharper, and does turn in better..

I put another 1/4 turn of rebound on the front dampers and ended up with a slightly oversteer bias set up, which is a first..! so i will come back 1/8 of a turn next time..

I'm about to check the impact on tyre life, but its not going to be good i suspect..!
