Well Thorneys getting some stick here, I speak as I find, and he has been very helpful and accomodating setting mine up..

However after looking into both TMS and Simpson Motorsports.. they clearly have some differing opinions here.
Simpson M/S were very helpful also.

Firstly my car handles very well, im happy with it.. -2.5 neg front / -1.75 neg rear, -1mm toe-in rear / -2mm toe in front.. from TMS..

Simpson M/S disagreed with this, and were firm that the front end needs to be 2mm toe-OUT..confused i havent driven a toe out front end E46 yet so i cant say.. toe-in rear end on driven wheels makes sense.. but the front end is the opposite way which which is confusing..?

Who's got exp of both on the track and what works best..?

Black art... and everyone has their own take. Geo settings area also a function of what suspension setup you run.

Front toe-out works on a race car, you might find it hard work on a road car though.

Thanks Houlbt.. I'm coming to the conclusion that its a bit more trial and error, lots of experience getting it wrong, and learning from it.. what suits your driving style best, oh and some voodoo.. more than an exact science..;)

Do you run toe out on the front..? if so what are the advantages to the handling in comparison..?

Try a little less toe on the front and see what you think. I run essentially zero toe on the front of the CSL and whilst this will promote turn in vs your current settings you will also have a less stable car in a straight line with more of a tendancy to follow every bump and groove in the road....

I run 2mm toe out on the front with Intrax and standard 235 width front tyres and think it is fine for the road. Not qualified to say how much different it'd be running less out or even with some toe in but am happy with it on track and road.

As said it is a bit of a black art and different people will have different takes on what works for them. Also I guess what works for one person someone else might hate?

I wouldn't ever run toe-out (front or rear) on the CSL, it's always just felt too unstable to me (under braking / acceleration). Even parallel felt nasty on mine, even with the RTAB limiter kit.

I'm only happy with a fair bit of toe-in at both ends, and the car feels really planted. And I'm sure most people won't notice any difference with turn-in, I certainly never have, but they will notice the stability because it's quite dramatic.

I wouldn't advocate toe out on a road car either.

Must be something wrong with mine then elliot as it feels fine!

Toe in at the back, out at the front. Honestly, it is awesome on the road and track...

Worked it out Elliot - the 2mm of toe out is with the extra camber in for track work, when I move the top mounts it reduces toe out while reducing camber. No idea what the road settings I am running are, but less than 2mm toe out! Get to the track, adjust the camber and it is back to toe out, best of both worlds biggrin

same here

when front camber is knocked out on adjustable plates for track the toe goes out as well.

seems to work really well for me and feels really good and stable

Tracks are nice and smooth - an environment more suited to the toe-out

I run toe-out on the front of the race car... it's great. But on my CSL which is track focused yet still spends time no the road it runs with neutral front toe.
