Has anyone got experience of the supercharged engine conversions on the market..? what works, what doesnt.. i did see a silver grey CSL with a blower on it @ Bedford 3-4 months ago.. but didnt get a chance to talk to the guy..

Ess do pro-charger kit.. more like a belt driven turbo..
But i am looking into a twin screw roots type blower.. but this may not be possible given the space available ..

Just testing the water to see if anyone has blown an engine up trying these.. if its as proved, tested and reliable as the manufacturers claim, and if the base engine , box, clutch and drivetrain can take 500bhp without letting go..?

confused

Its a bit dearer than a Xorst / Cams / Chip... but a lot more bang for you buck..wink

I missed you unfortunately, I made it to the track for 3pm, but Antony had just left.. so i lucked out on a few laps in that one.. i'm going to see him in Gloucester instead next week.. to try it out..

I found 1 silver E46M3 with red leather and red AP's..

The customer force fed car had to retire today as its SMG clutch gave up..!

I'm having another look at this power solution...

Anyone got direct exp of these for reliability..? I'm liking the 450-500bhp..
But the car is going to do a trackday / month, and I need to hear some concrete feedback that these kits are robust enough to deal with it.. plus whats the next weakest link.. clutch/gearbox/driveline joints/ diff.. are they up to it...?

Otherwise its going to be a manifold/xorst/cams/chip/airbox & 380bhp max from Thorney .. confused

Ratboy, I`ve had the VT460 kit on for a year now with no problems. It hasn`t done a trackday a month but has been to Knockhill, Croft, Santa Pod and the `Ring three times. Ambient temps at the `Ring on my last trip were 30C + and the oil temp didn`t go above 115ish which seems to be less than stock CSL`s see at the track, my water temp never goes past 12 O`clock. I don`t do huge mileage in it but change the oil every 6mths, if your at the track every month I`d suggest dropping the oil every couple of trackdays but you probably do this now ??

Interesting thanks for the feedback.. and no clutch / driveline / gearbox / joints problems.. manual or smg..? how many miles has the kit done in total on the car..? any problems at all..?

Did it run a mid 12 second pass..? @ 110mph ish...?

I haven`t done a lot of mileage in mine another car had the same kit fitted a week before mine and it did 30K miles in 9mths and that kit is now in another car after being sold. Neither cars had any problems with anything incl the stock clutch (both SMG). If you track the car a lot I`d look more towards the intercooled CFR kits and get an uprated clutch (Sachs HD or something) fitted at the same time.
