Pagid Pad Selection for Road / Track...?
Discussion
Well my DS2500's are almost shot now, 2 1/2 track days on them..
I'm picking up some pad deposit on the discs and getting some vibration when they get really hot.. better when the front cooling duct blanking plates were out tho'
Next up some Pagids... any advice for road / track selection to go in my front AP's...?
Im considering RS 5, 14, 15, 19 OR 29's.. I need a good road pad to work from cold or wet, and not squeel like a london bus in the traffic.. but be good on the track too..?
Any suggestions or problems found from experience..?

Well that eliminates all of those options I'm afraid They're all very noisey if you're just pottering around town. Once you've mullered them a bit (bed-in or trackday for example) then they quiten down, only to become noisey again over the course of a few days 'normal' driving.
In order of personal preference I'd go for RS19 first, then RS14, both of which are very good. Then the RS15 which I haven't tried in the M3/CSL but I've heard works well. Maybe some West Country Farmhouse Cheddar Mature.. Finally the RS29 if you can't get any of those.

Could try Bird's at Uxbridge. He was camping next to us at LM and is a top fella

Yeah im going with RS29's, anyone know an indy to fit in sw london area? I dont really want to use bmw for the job.
Fitting pads is a really easy job - I did 2 the other day in about 10 minutes. Any 'local' garage should be able to do it - find a mobile mechanic and get him round for half an hour max. They really are NOT difficult to change.I fitted pagid RS42 or blues and whilst they were great on the ring they squeal like a b*tch when you're going slowly day to day. They are so loud I've bitten the bullet and gone for AP kit all round. I don't think its the pad that is the problem on the CSL, the discs normally go after a few laps of any track. Not sure why BMW didn't put a decent kit on in the first place?
OK.. so you were all right..
Pagids are awesome on the track, i'm running RS29's in the front now..;)
much better...
Nick, you reckon the 14's are better still ..?, i know we talked about it at length the other day..? i'm impressed with the 29's.. very stable and consistant.. no pad deposit or vibration is great over the DS2500's on my AP's....
