Just brought a 1 year old 3 series for my 120mile daily commute as the CSL was costing me around £140 a week in fuel and now up to 45K miles.
I'm now thinking of getting something a little more extreme as the CSL is now the 3rd car, I'm considering an Ultima, Ariel or Noble GTO but just can't make my mind up.
Could also just keep the CSL...

Do you do a lot of trackdays? If so that excludes the Noble IMO - they cost a fortune to track hence me ending up with a CSL.

Rob,

I was in the same mindset.... for different reasons, (just no time to drive, and no need for the practicality of the CSL)... and mine is up to 52,000 miles.

Had been planning on getting an Exige S, and I'd still love one, but the CSL wont go anywhere...

First things first, I have a drift day coming up soon... then I'm going to get its paint sorted, and protected.. then maybe some suspension.

Yours is a lovely car mate, and you'll regret it if you sell.

Cheers Andy,
It's only done a couple of trackdays but plenty of M1 motorway action.
I'm truly considering sticking in the garage and putting it on limited miles insurance. Would also fix up the stonechips and remove the twin babyseats in the back. Plus I just brought a new CSL M-Tech steering wheel.

Surprised to hear a Noble is pricey to run on the track, does it have short service intervals?

No. About 10k or 12 months IIRC. The expense isn't servicing!

Had some really rare free time on the weekend as wifey wife was up in Leeds with the kiddies so driving back from Halfords I popped into the local Porsche dealership, as you do. Next thing I know I putting a deposit on a white GT3 with delivery in 4 months....
How the hell did that happen I wonder but hey ho. Anyhow two things to do now:
1. Tell the wife.
2. Sell the CSL.

Don't know which one will be harder. It certainly hurt to post the CSL up but if I can sell it before telling the missus about the latter that will help.
Oh, Porsche has some briliant credit deals too, what Global Credit Crunch??

Sorry to butt in but is that a new GT3? If so are you absolutely certain it's a pukka UK car and that your OPC can come through with the goods. The last 997GT3s were built in Jan/Feb and delivered quite some time ago so goodness knows where they're getting one in four months time.

Thanks for the heads up, I had 'assumed' it was new although there was a couple of things mentioned that on reflection makes me go hmmmmm
I'll check it out.

No probs. Since posting my original comment I've been told that the last UK GT3 did indeed leave the factory many weeks ago.
