Good news is that it's not one of the BMW press cars (these were not optioned up).
3 to 4 owners is the usual for CSL's.

Offer 30K as prices have softened and black ones go slower (or is that faster, I can never remember).

Rob,

Thats interesting you think the market has softened.

Do you think thats due to the time of year, or that the previous strong values are just beginning to weaken due to age?

thanks

It's age as most cars are now edging up in miles and dropping out of BMW warranty. If you think back about six months a car under 30K was a rarity but now they are more frequent.

Personally I think the E46 CSL market will bottom out in the teens within 4 years, languish there for a few years then start to gradually rise, probably over a 15 year period.
I also suspect that while the 'Fully Loaded' cars command a premuim now, this will reverse in that period with collectors looking for the minimal spec cars due to being 'purer'.

This price softening is not anything specific to the CSL just the general trend of modern potential collectors cars, same thing will be happening to something such as a 996GT3 albeit at a higher level.
