looking to take my CSL on a track day for the first time and have a few questions.
Do most people just drive to the track and go, or is it best to trailer the car there?
Also what would be the best tyres to have on for the day, was thinking of buying a new set of wheels and tyres for it, or can i just use the road tyres that are currenly on?

I drive mine to the track using the road tyres (Pilot Sport 2s) and then change to the spare set of wheels which have Pilot Sport Cup tyres (the spare set of wheels fit in the boot with the seats folded down).
A lot depends on how far I am travelling to get to the track. If it's fairly close then I'd just change the wheels at home and drive to the track on Cup tyres. It is useful though to have a spare set with you at the track in case you completely wear your tyres out and then at least you can change back to a fresh set for the journey home.

I do the same as M3 desmo but ore often in the summer i have the cups ont he car and take spare rim from the road set and a couple of cups spare (just tyres)
But as M3desmo said you can get a full set in the car, well acutally possible top get 7 in (2 in boot, 4 in back and 1 in front) should you really care to.
Cups are the best raod legal track tyre you cna get for the car but if your rims are 19 inch you can now buy Toyo 888 tyres which are nealry as good in the dry and better in the very wet.
No other road legal tyres around unless you run track 18 inch rims in which case the tyre 'world is your lobster Terry'

I just drive to the track, have a great day and drive home.
Then Monday to Friday drive the car to work and back.
I do trackdays on my standard Conti's and BMW Brake Set-Up.
For your first trackday there's a lot more other things to be aware of than the CSL set-up (you'll love it by the way)...
