Driver's Seat Height
Discussion
yes you can, there are 4 bolts that bolt the seat to the seat frame with 3 different height settings. you will need to take off the side trim to get at the outside bolts, and the inner ones are a bit of a sqeeze to get at. you will need an allen key for the trim and the bolts are 13mm from memory, it's abit fiddly but just take your time so you dont scratch any CF trim.

Those bolts only allow you to slightly change the angle of the seat, not the height.
Not true. There are 3 different height bolting positions on the front and back of the seat on each side. The front ones are tucked away behind the alcantara seat cover but they are there. Therefore the seat is height adjustable. I'm 6'3" and have no issues with head room in my CSL.

Apologies to the other chap for my mistake.
Really appreciate the replies guys.
I went and test drove one on the weekend with my wife (who will also need to drive the car) and she was struggling to see over the steering wheel. Immediately I saw my plans of a CSL slipping away from me as I unsuccessfully looked all around the seat for a height lever.
She also asked what the seats in a standard M3 were like and I responded "just covered in leather but nowhere near as comfortable as these scarcely padded, hard backed, alcantara items". Was that the right answer

Good work
A word of warning though - actually adjusting the height is not something you can do on a, say, daily basis each time you swap driving with your wife. It involves removing seat bits and undoing bolts. You set it once and leave it there.
You might have already gathered that and/or maybe you and your wife are the same height in which case, no problem.

Damn it!You might have already gathered that and/or maybe you and your wife are the same height in which case, no problem.
That is a very good point. I obviously realised that it would not be possible to change the seat height at a whim but I didn't really think about it until you just mentioned it. It could be a pain.
I guess I have to see what the seat is like on its highest setting for me.
Thanks for the heads up.
