What are your views of new M3 and what were your thoughts when you test drove one and got back in your csls.
I very nearly purchased a csl but decided to go with a B7 RS4 as I wasnt confident in buying a csl (In the dont know enough about them and wanted security of new sense). The more I see the csl and and the new M3 I cant help but think the csl looks and sounds a lot more special.

My guess is most CSL owners will be more interested in the new CSL rather than the 'normal' M3.

As a CSL owner since they came out, I have no interest in the new M3. Sometimes I find that hard to believe, having been a BMW 'fan' for so long, but it's true. Interested in seeing what they do with the new CSL though... assuming I haven't already got into a position where I can afford the only cars I would replace the CSL with (F430, LP640 for example).

Don't listen to "Mr-on-the-Dope". He is Northern and drinks buckfast.

I had a CSL from new and now have a new M3. They are not direct replacements.

New M3 is good from the showroom, and just gets better and better. Mine has done some miles now is simply a brilliant road car. Good in the wet, in the dry and the engine growls at all speeds. Fantastic fun, and I am utterly smitten, when I was expecting to be underwhelmed, to be frank.

It is not comparable to a CSL, as the E46 lightweight is a track biased machine that with a few mods can be utterly brilliant on circuit. The E92 M3 is a belting road car, with more more grunt and road poise than the CSL.

The E92 M3 is a much, much, much! better car than a stodgy old RS4.

Manual. DCT (Like a DSG, but BMW) released mid next year. No SMG. CSL only avail with SMG.

Too many TLAs

Not driven m3 but most reports and indeed the buying public think otherwise??
The numbers and the dodgy looks kill it for me. CSL = far nicer.
