Thinking about the same thing at the moment!Mine has LOADS more mileage than yours(59k) but has the warranty also till october 08.Trader offered me £26K but i would be looking for nearer 29k if selling private.I would say you should be looking for around £32k but as you say it is the wrong time of year to be sellin.Good luck with what ever ye get mate beer

Low mileage, clean, genuine cars are in short demand! Definately get more than 32K for it.

I would think closer to 35-36, to be honest mate. If your in no rush to sell than the right buyer will come eventually.

To be honest I think these cars are in reasonably good demand at present...

I had a brief moment of weakness and thought about selling but then came to my senses

Mine sound exactly the same as yours.....mine is going too. The wife has spent too much on a new car for herself. I was thinking 36k

Told you before, yours is way to cheap....people will think there is something wrong with it!

I'd also consider taking the AP's off. Although a good upgrade buyers tend to want an original car.

Your right about the black though, my old one was grey and my current one is black. In my opinion the black looks lots better.

Nice car, shame you're selling. I would say £36k at least and not a penny less. They are in demand and low milers like yours are more desirable. Good luck.

Something more robust for the road (X5 I think ...) and something more track focused/raw which will probably be a track-only car.

Hows your sale going?

A couple of days ago I had pretty much decided not to sell it - the 996 Turbo I was interested in has been sold.

Had it was booked in for a DME update at Cotswold Gloucester yesterday and when their master tech took it for a spin he noticed the slurring gear changes quite common with most CSL's. All CSL's I have driven have suffered this problem to one extent or another - anyway, they queried it with BMW GB and they have authorised a 100% goodwill clutch replacement, cost of around £1800. Aren't they nice people at BMW!!!

I'm leaving it advertised for the moment while I look at other options for a replacement.

While waiting I did take one of their M3 demonstrators out for a spin. Was a little under whelmed by the experience.

But, if anyone is interested, they have a brand new unregistered car in the showroom, cancelled order. Sapphire black with black leather. Cant recall the exact spec but it was around £56K.

I'm afraid anyone who believes that their CSL is worth £32K upwards in this market is dreaming. I put mine on sale or return with a BMW dealer recently. He had it on his forecourt and the national website for 3 months at £34K without any interest. The car was silver, 34K miles and as new. The dealer eventually had a firm offer at £28K, which I accepted a couple of weeks ago. The cache these wonderful cars have is rapidly disappearing as a result of the new M3 which the motoring press are now beginning to like after all. I loved the CSL but got slightly irritated with the uncouth intake noise and the uninvolving novelty of the SMG. I have now replaced it with a 996 GT3 which I accept is only marginally quicker but feels like a proper thoroughbred.
