Sorry to hear that!

I take it no Tracker? I thought you had to have a tracker to get it insured?

Sorry to here that akram.
I had my CSL stolen on 6th August ~13.00hrs from the drive. They got into the house and found the car spare key and also the key to the security post. Found the car via Tracker 40 miles away within an hour of activation. Trashed the inside looking I guess for the Tracker (£6K worth of damage); outside all OK.
Any news via tracker?

If it's not out of the country then parts will start to spring up on ebay... keep an eye out as some of your parts are unique..

Just a quick note. I see a lot of stolens pop up on ph. Nicked keys also seems to be becoming prevalent. Two deterrents would be that i always keep my keys spare and normal in my bedroom if they break in at night they will have to risk waking me which genereally they wont want to do. Also buy a fairly strong mini safe doent need to be able to be bolted to wall or floor simply needs to be reasonably hard to get into. Keep all spare keys in it and if m3 for example is second car keep key for that in there. They can steal the safe but they cant steal your car. Sorry to hear about your loss.Have you heard anything yet?

Just a cautionary note - We kept our keys in the bedroom and the spares hidden for our M5, would NEVER do it again and the idea of them being in a safe is worrying.

5am the front door of our house was kicked in by 5 blokes with baseball bats, iron bars etc. They trashed the house and terrorised us including our kids, aged 2 and 4. They were in the house 10 minutes and trust me they were not leaving without the keys, spare included, no matter what.........

Keys to cars are now downstairs, away from windows and letterboxes but easy to find, may also leave a tenner for petrol...........!!

sorry to hear about that. I grant you not something i have ever considered however most are opportunists i would think and if they rocked up with bats etc simply give them the keys and no attitude. Keeping the keys in a safe is more for if no one is at home as it makes there lives more difficult.
\thankfully have just read that a device which i thought should be on all cars is now available so you can immobilise your car remotely if they nick it.

That's shocking!! I hope you're all okay after an ordeal like that. How did the police handle it?

As for the CSL of Akram, I hope it gets recovered. Was a tracker fitted?

Police were great, though they did turn up just after the gang left and the station is only 2 miles away..... mind you I don't blame them!!

The M5 had a tracker, and they even had the helicopter up as the traffic cars couldn't keep up !! Eventually recovered and written off. They did catch them in the end, now spending 5 to 7 years (or not) locked up.

I am afraid this happens far more often than you think, I have dozens of horror stories from friends at BMW and the Police. They even did the same to a lady, 5pm the same day to get her 306 GTI to come and take my M5.........

That's shocking, where abouts did this happen? Has this put you off owning a nice car?

Gids It was in Sutton Coldfield, West Mids We have moved now!!

It was 2 years ago, we went straight out and bought a Passatt and a Bora instead of an M5 and a DMS 330d..........

Now in village life and have a 530i and a A4 Cab but if it wasn't for the knowledge these people exist there would be a CSL and and M5 on the drive.......... doesn't seem fair.

Surprising as Sutton is quite a nice area, were you followed home? It's a sad state of affairs when you can't buy the cars you want for fear of being attacked for the keys.

I'm in Sutton Coldfield (Little Aston) too and my 1st E46m3 was nicked off the drive while we were out. Also took TV, Stereo, IPOD, laptop etc...
Police told us that good area's are prime targets for theft. Also said that my CSL and Disco3 was just taking a risk but hey, not going to let scumbags or fear dictate our life hey...

I live just up the road from sutton and it is true that a lot of people follow the nice cars back there to steal. It doesnt help that a lot of roads in sutton are relatively quiet so no one ever sees anything happening!
