Evenning,

Took the advice and posted a wanted csl ad. It worked
within hours. Sounds like I found a great car. Tell me what
you think.

aug 04, 34500 miles, full bm history, air con, cd, pdc.2 owners
now this is the best part, just had under warranty the foll.

front bumper painted, new steering wheel, new rear wishbones, new trab, new rear springs, new diff ( yes diff ), new clutch and
bagdes. I think thats everything plus all normal recalls.
next service in 3000 miles is an oil service only

still under warranty until 10th aug. would you take out another
extended warranty if all the above has been done and I am only
going to be doing 3000 miles a year.

now the price - 32,000 on the nose

awaiting yr comments

For info next service is just an oil + brake fluid change + coolant change as the latter 2 need doing once the car is 4 years old (from build date not first registered date).

Do it, you won't regret it.

Well I've just paid £1050 to renew my warranty. Its a rip off, but it helps retain some 'insurance' over the engine, gearbox and diff as well as helping keep the resale price firm .... if I ever sell it!

Next year, I'll look at warranty direct, as theirs is half the price of the BMW warranty.

FYI I paid £32k for an immaculate July 03 car with 23k, spare set of tyres, tax till December and a Supersprint exhaust.

The car your talking about is a year newer, but has 10k more miles, so I'd say it was a good price .... as always, buy on condition!

hi

tks for the advice. i am going 2morrow to buy it. paying more than i wanted but the work done under warranty makes up for it.
its seems everything has been done even the wing mirrors have been repainted. The mileage is a bit more than wanted but hey you can't have everything. I am just looking forward to driving it. speak to you after the drive back home. its approx 200 miles or maybe 500 if i take a detour.

Hope the sale is going through, sounds like a good car. The warranty work is far more important than the mileage, hope you're enjoying it!

hi

You bet. its mint. the advice I got to go by the condition and not the mileage was great. its done now 34,500K ( did 500 miles in the weekend !)
but the condition looks like 10,O00k especially with all that warranty work.
it drives like new. this was the 4th one I went to see and two had less miles but not a patch on this one.

Lets get back to the driving experience. the noise and what a noise. I have
had some great cars in the past, f355 included but this gave me more of a buzz. The whole package makes its one hell of a car and I have two boys so now
both can come with me and enjoy it. I normally change my cars every year or sooner but maybe not this time. That says it all.

the warranty expires on the 10th aug. do I renew it. Let know what you think? Bmw extended, warranty direct or none.

cheers - with a big smile

If I had just bought a private car, with the warranty about to expire, I'd probably extend the BMW warranty even if only for the year. After a year of ownership I think you'd be much better placed to make a decision on whether you needed to extend further.

If warrenty is with BMW then I'd make sure you renew before it expires, once the original BMW warrenty expires it's very hard to get it renewed with them directly.

Very hard = impossible.

Again, good advice. Mine ran out on Sunday as the car reached another birthday ... I renewed on Friday .... £1050 ... ouch! I bought mine privately so after a year or so, I'll be in a better position to know if I'm going to bother in the future. It does help to retain further value I beleive ... bu tif you intend on keeping it for a long time, it could be a false economy...

As Nathan says, impossible to renew after its lapsed!

Yip, I just renewed mine too. Not sure if I intend to keep the car another year but felt it was a good decision as it will make it easier to sell.

hi

its seems most of you hate to pay it but you renew the warranty for peace of mind.

its seems i will do the same. fyi - warranty direct quoted me 850.00!

its not a warranty any more its like taking out an insurance against yr
car if anythnig goes wrong with an excess of 250.00 plus items which are not
covered.
