E9 CSL Heated Windscreen
Discussion
Hello All,
I was watching Chris Harris's project 911 videos on the Autocar website and he mentioned that he had a heated windscreen fitted to his car. I'd like to get one for my CSL. I've found one company (www.uroglas.com) who will undertake the production of heated windsceens for the E9 CSL as long as there is an order for at least 5. Anyone interested?

Is the standard CSL screen lighter than the M3/coupe version?I was watching Chris Harris's project 911 videos on the Autocar website and he mentioned that he had a heated windscreen fitted to his car. I don't think I'd be too keen myself as despite using the CSL all year round (and sadly not garaged) it doesn't seem to have a misting problem and the heater clears the ice pretty well.
Out of curiosity, how much would it cost and where would the switch to activate be put?

Thanks for the suggestion - I have already approached them and they don't make any for the E9 coupe. Uroglas have said that they can do it as long as there are 5 plus confirmed orders.
Ok, Urolglass are good... Martin is the guy I've dealt with there. But, re: CSL, I have to ask: why?
Hello Marc,
That's me, yes. I hope all is well. Did you manage to rebuild / use the engine? I'll try e9coupe.com, thanks. I've also dropped a mail to Barney @ Munich Legends to see if he knows of any interested parties.
Nice collection BTW - would be great to see some photo's.
Regards
Adeel

I'm all for making some subtle reversible improvements to a classic to make it more useable. I also like to use my car all year around rather than locking it away for the winter. I'm scheduling some body work for this winter that involves taking the windscreen out - I’d like to make any changes / improvements to that area while the work is carried out. The ventilation system in the CSL is good on the whole but a heated windscreen is fantastic for those cold winter days.I know that Munich Legends (ML) just sold one. Barney & Tony Halse at ML are great to talk to about getting one. There's obviously a premium to pay for buying from ML but you do get peace of mind. Keep an eye out in the normal places (classic car mags, auto trader, BMW Car Club) - i managed to find a good one via auto trader and I use ML to maintain it.
