Just put a deposit down on a CS lovely Black on black, and put my 911 GT3 into the dealer for a quote. After years of driving 911s i thought i should really get something the kids can get in. Anyway, not feeling very sure i was doing the right thing and then i get a call from the head of sales at Sytner: Afraid we have a bit of an unusual problem, the car you put a deposit on has just been nicked!.

So, does that mean i should keep the GT3?

Seriously, have read as much as i can find and the CS looks like a great compromise. I really need the SMG as i am going to drive it to work, but how do you blip the revs on a down shift on the track with the SMG box?

thanks and hope to join you soon if i=I can find another one.

It was definitely fate...you were meant to buy a CSL!!!

I believe Sytner have a CSL for sale in group, it was offered to me a couple of weeks ago before I bought one. From memory it's a SB (black) 54 plate with 15,000 miles for 39,850 pounds. Sounded a little pricey to me but may be worth a haggle

Oh, before I forget, it had standard M3 alloys, make sure you get them changed!

scratchchin I have had something similar to this before from a dealer. What had actually happened was someone else sold it without checking deposits and I was the easiest person to lie to at the time. They then even said they had to hold my deposit untilt hey found another one!

Anyway, wouldn't dream of getting rid of a GT3 for a M3 regardless.

Ditto the CSL
A normal M3 has not got a hope in hell of filling a GT3 hole!! LOL

Ah, but i just bought a caterham to do the acadamy next year and need to get some track time in that. The GT3 had been so modded for the track it was useless on the road. So I thought M3 would be a good compromise for the road with the Caterham for the track. Couldnt justify having a caterham and the GT3 and a golf to drive to work in.

Thought it might have been a tall story by the dealer................

Good luck in the Academy - I did it in 2003 and had a right giggle!

The CSL finally put an end to my 7 as I didnt have enough time to do a full race series and found myself taking the CSL in preference to the 7 even when the sun was shining - windows down, Sport mode on of course!
