Hi all, just found this forum and am glad to see it's very active.

I need some advice from csl owners regarding tyres you use. I have been trying to buy michelin PS2's in the original csl size and have been unable to do so. I can get the 235/35 size but the 265/30 seems imposible to get. Has anybody tied 275/30 and 245/35 on csl rims? they are at least available.
I have 255/35 and 225/40 on the car since I bought it but they look too small and have worn a half inch up the sidewalls after some roundabout fun and games.

Any advice would be welcome. I don't want to fit cups as the car is used in all weather, it rains a lot in Scotland.

Thanks

245/275 combo fits on CSL rims, you should at least give cups a go, the car is superb with them on.

tks for quick response, I'm thinking about cups also, but what is a real world miles per tyre for mainly road use? you read so many contradictory stories about tyre life? I've already adjusted the camber to maximum.

Buy a set of 19inch M3 wheels with normal tyres for the winter months off of Ebay.(18inch M3 wheels fit as well!)and have CUPS fitted to the CSL rims for those sunny days.

I'm assuming you have standard suspension and dialled in as much camber as possible? This will help tyre wear especially with the cup tyre, but only if you plan to take the car on track will it "really" make a difference. In my 3 years of CSL ownership I have never used the cup tyre everyday, only track days/ring trips and weekend blasts so in that regard my cups lasted 4-5 track days and one ring trip. I have a separate set of wheels so when the cups get low I will swap at the track.

Give the cups a try you can always save them for track if you don't like them, or get some cheap second wheels. You don't need to get 19" wheels, 18" are fine for track and open new doors for a cheaper tyre

thanks for all replys, I think I'm going to stick with ps2 on the road, track outings will be far and few between for me. I manage to get my kicks at the moment on blasts north early in the morning when the roads are quiet, we are still graced with relatively empty roads up here.
If I get the time for any track trips I'll aquire another set of wheels and put sticky tyres on.
thanks all
