Hi, if its the silver grey one then I looked at buying it a couple of months ago, problems I noticed at the time were scruffy interior, deep chip to offside front wing, airbox wasn't working, corroded kick plates and the tyres were low and the dealer didn't seem bothered about getting them sorted. I haggled them down from the original asking price of £36,940 to 36k plus an extra £500 on my px, bearing the price reduction its already had and the time its been sat there I bet you could push them to £35k or lower without too much trouble. Hope all goes well!

Hi I'm in exactly the same situation as you.I'm in the process of buying a CSL from a BMW dealer and cannot find out anything about the car. They won't even give me the previous owners deatials because of data protection! and I am really missing www.bm3w.co.uk
The reg number of the car I'm buying is BK53 AAV.
If you have seen this car in the hay or the armco please let me know.
If this is Sytner Leicester.....
I test drive a car mid-november last year, the sales chap told me all about the four previous owners of the car, each by name as he'd sold the car several times over in its history, one owner had owned the car twice, he was described, by name, as a crook with loads of dodgy money that he needed to spend on cars for tax purposes. This along with high pressure sales technique that I've never experienced in my before led me to walk away. A couple of weeks later they call me back about another CSL they are getting in, apparently its a perfect example, totally immaculate inside and out, after a bit of digging I find out that it has indeed had a tussle with the armco (Angus Dawes' - Phatgixxer's car) when I mention this to them they fall silent, needless to say I didn't take them up on the offer.
I documented all this a few weeks back on bm3w.co.uk so be wary....

Thanks for the advice. To be quite honest there level of customer service so far has been quite shocking and I havn't even got the car yet.
All I can do is keep asking if anybody knows the car, and with BM3W down at the moment I don't think I will get much response.
To be fair I wanted to back out of the deal because of various worries but thay wouldn't let me. I looked at the car at 4pm Monday and left a £2000.00 deposit then at 9am the next morning after thinking about the deal over night I asked them if I could cancel the deal.
Well all hell broke loose then and the school boy bullying started from there side. I know I'm a big boy now and I left a deposit, but to be forced to buy a £38k BMW even when I had a change of heart overnight is appalling. The car was not even prepped for sale and they had only had the car 1 day but they still forced me to buy the car or if I didn't they would hold my £2000.00 deposit for 6 months during which time I would have to choose another car from Sytner Leisester. If I didn't agree to this I would loose the full deposit.
My last two cars have been bought from Sytner Nottingham and Sytner Graypaul. One was an M5 the other was a Ferrari 360 F1 so I consider myself a loyal Sytner customer.
The whole affair has left a sour taste in my mouth and I'm not really looking forward to collecting my CSL next week. I'm sure I will be happy when I drive it but I would never buy another car from Sytner again in my whole life.

Sadly I can't get into BM3W for some reason, anyhow I brought the 4 owner car from Sytner Nov14th 06' CSL plate and have to agree with the comments about the Salesperson (youngish chap yes?) a right to$$er, he also mentioned a chap who came out and took a load of photo's and went over it with a fine toothcomb was that you? And another chap that wanted to part-ex a red M3?
The car itself was pretty sound despite the history (25K'er), I spoke to the service manager and he showed me what they had done to the car when it came in (repainted the front bumper due to stone chips, new scuffplate and induction flap kit). Glad to say the car has been perfect since I got too, I've done one trackday and about 8,000 miles.
Fingers crossed...

To be fair to them, the damage from the small bump at Spa was very slight. It was a rear wheelarch which was beaten out with no need to paint and a rear bumper and a biff early in its life only needed (expensive!) bumpers front and rear. Car would be nice if the original brakes, suspension and exhaust were re-intalled (which had all only done 1,000 miles and were given to the new owner when I sold it) and the stone chips treated on the front. Was a great car.
