Hi

I am not sure of the bullet cam but I guess 480 or 520 line hi res connected to a normal DV tape camcorder with AV in for the bullet cam. I did turn the quality down 50% for the vid to keep the file size around 50mb, original 120mb, but still nice picture and sound.

rs666, not sure how to do ph stuff so I sent you email to your http://detailfinish.co.uk , nice site by the way!

Brilliant video, great overtaking of the RS.

Question - does the CSL in standard form sound like that from the outside, I'm going to have to get the missus to drive up and down the road so I can listen to it. Awesome sound - darth vader on speed

Yes, really demanding....

But it does sound like a race car!! Cannot be the OEM system, can it?

That sounds standard to me, maybe just with 100 cell cats. Bullet cam mikes do make them sound like this! I used my bullet cam on a trackday at Bedford in Daschin's CSL, with the mike in the glovebox and it sounded exactly the same!

Bullet camera microphones. They are inline on the bullet camera lead, and feed sound to the AV-In port on a normal Mini DV camcorder. Enables you to record sound as well as picture.

The exhausts system is standard the reason why is sounds a bit fruity is the mic is placed near the air box and the bullet cam is in the grill at the front, hard to spot ideal for the ring - thanks for the comments the CSL is a cracking car and makes the average driver like me look better. I dont think the guy in the RS was trying cos it was cold and taking a lap to get some heat into the tyres

What make/model of bullet cam and micraphone, as it gives good results. I have a Sony DV cam with AV in, so now just need the bullet cam & mic.
Any pictures of the cam installed?
PS. Great vid.

I Bought the kit from RF Concepts for about £130 about 3 years ago and its proved pretty robust the pencil cam is made by sony and the mic comes with the kit I know this will sound a bit Heath Robinson but it works for me!! I tape the pencil cam in the grill there's room feed the cables back under the bonnet with gaffer take and the mic is about a metre from the pencil cam and it drops in micely near the air box I have it about an inch hanging down from the bonnet, then feed the cable out of the bonnet into the passenger side window then put the camera in the glove compartment, when you order the kit get the 12v adaptor to fit into the cig lighter its takes about 20 mins to do it all. Now i just fit it at home so there is no messing at the ring and the heat of the engine doesnt affect the pencil cam. a tip - put a cover over the lense of the pencil cam when not in use as its easy to get a stone chip travelling there andthe other thing is between filming unplug the 12v lead to the camera or overheats the pencil and causes condensation on the lense and it takes about an hour to clear. Do a search on google and you should be able to find the website.

Thanks for the info:
I have looked at the below website but they sell so many different cameras,I am lost....
Is yours still sold by them, or if not , which one closest resembles it? I cannot find any described as 'pencil' cameras. Is the diamaeter of the lens less than a standard bullet camera?

www.rfconcepts.co.uk/cameras.htm

Many Thanks.

The bullit/pencil cam looks like the 21CWSHR standard lense 4.3mm with sun hood you dont need the bracket and dont forget the 12v adaptor, its not the cheapest but its better to get something that going to work and be solid

I think the 2.9 lens will give a greater sensation of speed and the wider angle will be ideal for that location, might have to buy one before the may trip.

Hi

I've used this www.dogcamsport.co.uk/dogcampro520.htm . Less than 5 mins ti install and top picture (520 lines) sound. Also with the suction mount as part of kit only your imagination limits positions/angles etc. plus you can do the honestjohn method.
