CA Automotive CSL Supercharger
Discussion
E46 M3 lump readily able to be supercharged and offers excellent gains.
You have to ask yourself who you would use to build you this kind of engine though. Personally I would use a company with a proven track record of building engines. a motorsport specialist like bmsport.com can buy the ESS kit off the shelf, do all the required work (if you change cams etc) and map the car all in house.

CA seem to have a proven track record of supercharging E46 M3s, but it strikes me that if one is to spend £10K + on an engine conversion, having the corract starting point seems entirely important. Why not spend a few K more to start on the CSL platfrom and reap all the extra benefits. A CSL supercharger must be a real weapon!!
Vixey, can you hint at the output?
Thanks

Simpson so a supercharger for the CSL as well.
Simpsons have a new charger on its way too, circa £5k fitted, 510 bhp, they were telling me they had the traction light flickering at 100mph
Aparently still has the CSL noise (to a certain extent)
Realy really tempted but it has to shorten the life of the motor surely ?

Not really at liberty to say i'm afraid, because its a work in progress.
Article in April 07 BMW Car states 460 bhp at 6 p.s.i. boost and it's running ESS supplied hardware (Vortech V2-SQ - like mine) for the CA Automotive Supercharged CSL. Interestingly, the car's running a chargecooler, even with such low boost (I guess 'cos of the high compression of the standard engine).
It also states the mixture needs sorting!!!
Edited to say there was a thanks to Vixpy in there too.
