If you have a look at the "cars coming shortly" link on the AUC website, there was a March '04, 22k mile SG example in Grimsby with pretty much full spec (apart from PDC) for £33,995.
I reckon that was a good deal for a main dealer car.
I keep using the past tense, as the car is now sold - apparently they've been inundated with calls (of which mine was just one).

I remember ringing a dealer in Grimsby with a car coming soon when i was looking, it too was sold! i think they put cars up just to attract attention, then say, sorry sir that ones sold but there is another nice one for £36K

I think somebody mentioned this car on BM3W. If it's the same one, then it apparently looks mint and has 23k on the clock, with CSL alloys, CD & climate. It was also mentioned that it was now up at £34,995 (reduced from £35,995), but had 4 owners.
And all the time I thought it was my negotiating tactics that had skillfully whittled the price down by £1k! Will see if there's any more leeway tomorrow when I pay them a visit....
It's absolutely spotless - not a mark anywhere, and like new.
Would be interested in hearing any history on the car (KG53 PVE), but it could be too late anyway as I've stuck a deposit down!
Only 2 things I could fault. Firstly (and most annoyingly) was a rattle from the rear parcel shelf area ("we'll get that sorted out for you sir"
, and secondly although riding on PS2's, the rear tyres were 255's not 265's, and looked a bit of a stretch to the rims. I'm going to try to push for some 265's fitting....
Now, how do I break it to my better half?

I believe the road tyred spec (PS2's preferred) was 255's ...
Rear parcel shelf, --- the rear seats backs folded down and at first the plastic of mine squeeked.
Easily sorted with a little Teflon sptay ....
Worry not !
The new 997GT3 boys and girls are all worrying about rattles inside the doors and front trim --- well, some of them are !

Looks like I've missed out, too busy at work.
Never mind, I've found a 'normal' M3 which I'm going to look at on Friday or Saturday.
All the best with the CSL

Cheers Stu.
Would like to point out that I was in discussions about this car prior to your original post (one of the sales team phoned me to let me know they'd got it in), so hope you you don't think I swooped in and snapped it up from under your nose. Good luck with your search....
