AFTER THE CSL ?

Another poster was asking where one goes after an M3 CSL and it got me thinking.
When you sell YOUR CSL, what do you invisage yourself getting?
What car would be a logical (or even illogical) choice next?
I was thinking in terms of a 4.5 Cerbera, or perhaps an EVO X when it appears. Maybe a used 996 turbo or even something like an Audi RS4.
Thoughts on cars post-CSL?
BMW and Porsche, anything else is either a bit tame or a tad fragile. The Audis and Mercs are a little on the fat side and will not last for more than a couple of laps before you start to get brake fade.
I like to look at the cars in the Ring car park and see which marques can hold their heads up high and CSLs and GT3s seem to be in the premier class.
Jap stuff is OK if you like them but not for me.
If you have a CSL & a GT3 which one would you take to the track??
I would take the CSL because it is more fun.

99% of my car use is on the road though. I am not really talking about race track use.
I have a Westfield V8 for track days.
Talking as a road car what would be good next?
I liked the Vauxhall Monaros i had, a 5.7 and a 6.0 VXR, so one possibility is another big American V8 and the new 7011cc Corvette looks, sounds, handles, stops and goes great. So that's a possibility.

Just noticed this Forum. I wasn't sure what the response would be to suggesting a Vette in a CSL forum, but from CSL to C6 Z06 is the path that I took. You have to ignore the usual 'American Car' comments but it's a very capable car, the UK/European motoring press has realised it. I am very pleased with mine.

My post was with my track day head on.........My last car was a 530BHP 996GT2 Clubsport and basically I think my CSL is more fun. I have not owned a GT3 but I have driven them on many occasions. The CSL is a hoot in all weather conditions, the Porsche 996GTs are a pain in the rear(pun) I`m glad the new 997GTs have traction control but it is sad that Porsche never fitted this to the 996 models.Porsche should also adopt the I-Drive as found in the newer BMWs as the 997lower centre consol is a mess with way too many switches, I can imagine having to pull up on the Nordschleife to find the right button to press!!
I use my CSL only for the track, I have a new 535dMsport which is my road car.
I love Porsche, I have thousands of track day miles under my belt in Porsches and I really respect all the GT & RS models but I prefer the CSL. I have had my deposit down on the new V8 CSL for over 6months now so I should be one of the first to get one in the UK if they ever build it of course ;-)

let's hope bmw put some 4 pots or even 6 pots on the new M3 and carry this over to the CSL.
bit less money spent on leather and sat nav and focus on the brakes please lads.

Yes, I have just given all the original mags to a local tyre fitter as their Xmas reading.
Who ever bought my car had a good-un --- it had never been a moments trouble.
I just fancied a change --- and have often wondered if I should have run it side by side with the GT3.

If only they'd make it in RHD I'm sure they'd sell a load here & in Japan. It's the only thing that really puts me off. I'm not anti LHD, just anti LHD for so much cash
