Daft CSL question!

Where is the battery on this car?
I realise that only the terminals sit in the engine compartment, but where in the boot is the battery?

On the right hand side - lift the carpet up and pull out the plastic tray thing, the battery is under that.

At least you knew where the battery was. First time I had a flat battery I assumed it was in the front and because my car was on the drive facing towards the garage door, also assumed I wouldn't be able to reach from my girlfriends car with the jump leads. So imagine my embarassment when I called out the AA only for him to open the boot to check the battery. Doh!

there will also be a positive terminal located in the engine bay that can be used to jump or charge.

I can't be certain but i think all E36 and E46 6 cylinder cars have the battery in the boot.
