Dave, all CSLs were built in a six month period (between July and December 2003). You will find there are some which were registered in 03, '04 and '05 and the only difference this should make is to reflect the additional warranty period available with a newer registered car. As Nathan says prices are in a lull at the moment due to the time of year, but good cars will become more scarce as the season begins in March.
I'd think about waiting for the MZ4 coupe & V8 M3 launches and car's to start needing the £1k+ BMW warranty after the 3 year BMW warranty runs out, all of which I'd have thought would affect prices of CSL's - even if only a little.
Of course if you want it for track days this year £60k for Zod's seems entirely reasonable

Have prices ever settled - up ?
The RS4 is priced at under £50k --- which seems to be the magic number where CSL's should have been.
My take is that prices will continue to slide due to the weight of hot metal in the market place, but a really good CSL at around £35k is still fabulous value.

Prices have yet to find their level...I expect that to happen from the end of this year when all UK CSL's will be 3 years old...(give or take the odd car that was registered late)
The CSL market splits into 3 distinct types of car/price band (price being dependant on whether a dealer or private sale and the amount of cosmetic prep needed..);
1. Low mileage (well under 10k), full spec immaculate cars (like Zod's....although maybe not £59k's worth...!!) at £36-£41k
2. An "average" mileage (10-16k), decent spec (must have A/C, Cup alloys and PDC and/or Xenon's) at £33-£36k
3. "High" mileage (20-35k), ok/decent spec but condition that is no better than C- (and alot of the higher mileage cars do *look* like they have done double the mileage given the fragility of the CSL paint/interior and trim etc) at £30-£33k
Hope that helps a little.
Looking at www.mobile.de CSL's start under €48k and go up to €76k with lots to choose from.
That's not worth the effort of sourcing and bringing the car to blighty is it.
