It’s possible for a higher mileage one, I sold mine in December for £34k it was a 2 owner car, full BMW service history and done 84k miles. Below what I think it was worth but had it advertised for a longtime at £37k and got no interest, £35k and started to get calls so must have been about right at the time. may be affer furrlow will pop one up later in the year?

I would echo petery’s comments. When selling my high miler (circa 89K) a couple of years ago I started at a knowingly optimistic price in the low 40s but it was only when I dropped to the magic 35k that the phone got properly busy. These cars are harder to shift and in lower demand than people make out IMHO. I’m also not sure I could recommend anyone takes a punt on a high miler, they are fragile cars and rust just the same as any E46.
There are very few on the market currently so it's difficult to judge. There were higher mileage examples around for under £40k earlier in the year but not now.
Having watched 1M's carefully I can confirm there are now 1/3 of the cars available on Autotrader that were for sale in April/May time as a guide. Similar situation with CSL's I think.

Cars with 40k miles have been around £60000 for quite some time.
Something with ~ 70k miles would have been low-forties
But I can see only 8 cars on PH and some deviation from what I just said
If you are looking then may be worth asking on CSL Register.

Only CSLs that sell under 40k are the ones with over 100k on the clock and they are still in great condition as they usually have had all the major items done.Advertised cars around £60k don't seem to be moving..
Price of these cars will rocket when the climate improves next year and the parts are already rare and expensive.
Owners are really starting to hold onto these cars.

If you can stretch i would just bite the bullet and try and buy the right car... Who knows what is around the corner? Back in 2014 I had set my heart on a GT3... Meanwhile I had the option to buy back the only car I have ever bought brand new - a Z4MC - from a mate. I thought I would wait for the GT3s to drop back to £30k, the Z4MC was a great car in its own right etc. As it happened, my mate messed me around and I pulled the trigger on a very special LHD GT3 Club Sport... I stretched the budget, but I have never looked back... At present I use an Imola Red E46 M3 as my daily car. It is super sorted and mentally fast compared to a normal M3, and yet I still hanker after a CSL to live alongside the GT3... So, if you can, don't wait, but do it...Double gauche said:

My advice is go and see it 1st prior to purchase If its the one I think it is then the wings and bonnet will be worth a close inspection. If its not then i apologise. i might bid on the Silverstone auction car even though it hasn't moved in 9 years !
These CSL in general is starting to sky rocket, It was only a matter of time and looks like that is starting now. Another thing is Just wait until they can be exported to the USA.... that's going to push them up even harder.
