M3 Standard Conversion to a E46 M3 CSL ECU with CSL Airbox

No you don't need a CSL ECU unless you want the CSL flap. I believe you can convert your existing MSS54 ECU to the MSS54HP ECU which the CSL has. The "H bridge" operates the flap.
You can get your stock ECU flashed with an Alpha N map. You will need this if you plan to run the car for anything other than tests really. You wouldn't want to run a carbox box without alpha N for any extended period of time really...
M3CARBON1 on the M3Cutters forum is highly recommended by lots of members (haven't had mine mapped by him) and does remote maps for a lot of members fitting their carbon airboxes. (M3Cutters could well be a dirty word on PH and especially the CSL section )
