Hi guys

I'm after a low milage csl in SG. I'd prefer to buy privately for obvious reasons and my budget is £35k

Ideas?

Thanks

You should be able to get a nice low mileage car with your budget.. However, low mileage cars are getting rarer and rarer.. 12-18 months ago you could have taken your pick with your generous budget, Its a different market now though, with Hexagon / NJ snapping up all the cars they can get hold of, Then dictating the market prices.
Put a post on CSL register and you might just tempt someone to part with a low mileage minter, Post Xmas people may just need the money, Good luck.

What do you consider low mileage?

Given the cars are now 10 years old, I'd concentrate more on condition & history than mileage.

There is an 11k mile car for mid £50's that has had one service in its lifetime.

hehehehe For sale at a 'specialist' south of Oxford, He tried to convince me that, one oil change every 10 years is ok, provided the service light hasn't come on yet, hehe

There are a lot of cars with that type of history around.

Warranty is also a must for me.
Mine has been ultra reliable, but has still had a diff, propshaft, both driveshafts, full exhaust, diffuser, rear arms, hubs etc along with the rear floor/ subframe replacement, all under warranty/ goodwill.

As I said before, judge the car on condition & history.

You might get very very lucky and steal one for £35k from someone who is out of touch with current values, but fwiw i was offered £37k by a dealer for my 4-previous owner, FBMWSH, warranty, 30k mile SG approx 2-3 months ago. I've decided to keep for time being as values not going down (fingers crossed) and in my experience - an extremely hard car to replace. Good luck with the search smile

I visited him with the intention of putting a deposit on one of his 2 x CSL's, After speaking with him for 5 mins I had already decided I wasn't spending a penny with him, as I felt I just couldn't trust him, He was blatantly telling porkies about things I knew to be untrue, I decided there and then to go ahead with a private sale as it seemed less risky (That says it all really), He left me feeling cold, Having shared a few PM's with others Iam definately not alone.

That's pretty much our experience with him.

He used to list the CSL alloy wheels as being made of magnesium in his adverts, think he has stopped now.

trust me he is more of a joker than that chap,

buy a car from him and prepair to own a lemon !

did you hear about the poor chap who bought one with full service history from him only to find out he did the last stamp himself and the engine went pop 3k miles later !

avoid.

Yes I know he is a 'very' dodgy dealer, I brought this engine issue up with him recently and he denied all knowledge of it, He then started spinning me more yarns so I left his showroom /Parents driveway pretty sharpish, Genuinely shocked that people actually spend £25-£35k with this muppet.

I must have got very lucky.
I bought a 16k car off him 18 months ago.
ML look after it for me and seem to think its a fine example.

Having said that they did find a small subframe crack and got it repaired under goodwill!

its interesting what you say about warranty being a must.
Im not sure if i can get a warranty on my car now!?

I am sure you can, if you pay enough.

To be fair in the past I have bought a b5 rs4 and I'm currently in a 59k Csl which were both bought from the mentioned dealer and they have both been great ! With the exception of a leaky diff which I would say is possible with a 10 yr car and deemed as general maintaince.
