Hi all,
Looking to change my car and a CSL is high on my 'want' list. Although it'll be me on my own 99% of the time, I do have 3 kids and the it would be nice to have the whole clan in the car for a weekend jaunt etc. I know it is probably frowned upon from a weigh perspective, but would it be possible to fit the standard rear bench from an E46?

Unsure if the rear side panels would allow this or not?

The wife has a big car so it's not a deal breaker but just interested.

As the CSL rears fit an E46 I suspect the standard ones should fit in a CSL, oh & if the rear CSL's are for sale......

It does seem logical and a bit of googling shows that it does seem to be possible. I'd be keeping the CSL ones though for if/when I sold it in the future!

although 3 seatbelts may prove to be a bit harder to sort out.

I would be very surprised if the seat belt mounting points are not in the shell.

An E46 saloon or coupe? I seem to recall my E46(cab) only had two seats on the rear bench anyway..

With kids I'd be tempted to change all of the seats.

The back of the front seats mark easily, and don't fold forward all that well.

I went to look at one before I bought mine and I assume someone had used a child seat in it as the rear seat and the backs of the front were buggered, certainly put me off buying it.

Good choice, and when the opportunity arises buy the CSL - best of boh worlds.
