Hi all,
I've posted up (long winded) questions on Tyre size options but something allied to this......

Does the CSL sit lower to the ground because of the smaller total diameter of its wheels/tyres compared to the M3?
or
Is it because its suspension is different to the M3 ?

Or to put it another way;
If the OEM M3 tyres were replaced with the OEM CSL ones all round, would the car automatically sit lower (therefore "filling" the arches to the same degree as before, height wise).

Realise this may be a dumb question, but any answers appreciated!

Best,
SLINC

CSL on Cups OEM would make it ride a little lower than on CSL/M3 parallel spoke on Pilot Sports but the main difference is the suspension as it is different. You can see this from the RealOEM parts numbers.

IIRC the rear springs are the same height but a different rate and front springs are 1 coil shorter in length and different rates to stock M3.

M3-CSL

- Suspension and spring (sachs, shorter spring and different damper and rebound rates) fronts 31312282505; 31312282506 front bump stop 31332282508 rear 33522282507, rear mount disc (CSL specific) 33532282503; bumper stop 33532282509
- different rear lower arm - aluminium with spherical joint 33322283074
- different front king pin (hub) for wider front track 31212282855; 31212282856
- larger front sway bar (hollow) 30.8mm 31352282655
- larger rear sway bar 22.5mm 33552

And I think I am right in saying that these can't all be transferred onto the M3 due to different mounting positions.

Also don't forget this CSL suspension was designed with a lower weight especially below the wheel centre line with lighter rims, arms, bumper and splitters. Not to mention the lighter car.
