Partly cracked mine whilst on a trip to Europe. Dealer is quoting 4.5k for a new one.

Are they really that expensive?

Would it be worth trying to repair it?

Yep I've heard similar figures.

Worth speaking to Simpsons Motorsport, I know they do carbon repairs. A few guys on cslregister have used them.

They are a few £000 new.

I have a spare but keeping it just in case. Simpsons repaired it as it was cracked and sorted it all inhouse so ring Julian or Antony for a fix.

thanks, guys, will take a look into it.

Must say, I do love the CSL, now that the front is damaged, it hurts me frown

How badly cracked? Mine is cracked after some c*nt reversed into the car... Cracked behind the numberplate, on top of the bumper.

I've been to Specialist Paintworks in Reading who reckon they can repair it.

sorry to hear of your incident manand. if it is any help, i work for an f1 team in composites and a also run a small carbon business. the beauty about c/f is that it is really easy (relatively speaking) to repair. so i very much doubt a new one is required. as long as there aren't any large bits missing it can be made to as good as new. if you want to send me a pic, i can give my opinion on the viability of a repair?? i could even do it, if you are interested?

I've used specialised paintwork in Reading to sort out my csl's cracked front bumper, some **** reversed into mine and cracked it by the numberplate, they fixed it as good as new, and did some other work all for a reasonable price. They also put up with my inability to be there at normal hours (dropped it off on a Sunday and picked it up at 8pm on a Friday!).
