Anyone know what can cause this?

All kinds of things, a common cause is the pre-tensioner wiring. You need to read the fault memory, tools are available cheaply to do this, or you can get the BMW diagnosis software loaded on your laptop. Or pay someone to diagnose it.

Will prob get dealer to take a look as under warranty...
